I joined Clearview Software just over a year ago and have received an increasingly large number of requests asking me to explain what I found after joining. “So, how does Clearview compare to Deltek” is a weekly – if not daily - question.


First off, you need to know that prior to joining Clearview I had an inkling that the ‘engine under the hood’ would be impressive. This was due to the fact that I had previously worked with one of the co-founders and developers. He had developed a real-time accounting/project management system decades ago that was ahead of its’ time. Therefore, I had a pretty good idea that it would be impressive. To be frank, I found it to be way beyond what I imagined it would be and indeed, has functionality surpassing not just ERP software in the Architectural/Engineering/Professional Services vertical markets, but in any market.


Sounds bold and self serving, I know. However, after 25 years of working in the A/E ERP space I do not say that lightly. It is an untold story that I will begin to unpack over the coming weeks and months here – and one that I enjoy showing off. Why untold? Well, let me just say that when a company is run by a team of software developers ‘marketing’ is not high on the list of preferred/enjoyable tasks. I think they rate it right up there with raking leaves or putting on suits to attend a large social gathering (sorry guys, had to say it).


It is a bit laughable that we have been in business over a decade, have over 30,000 users, but just recently hired our first marketing resource. The company has never marketed itself and had just quietly and organically grown over the past decade through word of mouth. Based out of a small town in Virginia, they had stayed under the radar while developing a full ERP product for the Architectural/Engineering/Professional Services Industries. Everything you need to run a full project lifecycle – with no cobbled-together franken-ware. Ironically, the ‘quiet’ part of their story changed fast not due to their own marketing initiatives. Rather, it was due to the fact that customers started voting and talking about us. Things really took off once the PSMJ ratings came out last year ranking Clearview ahead of its’ competition. The phone has been ringing off the hook ever since. The dramatic growth has brought me, and a growing list of others, here to help support the next chapter in our story.

I will get into the product features in future blogs. First though, one of the initial things firms notice about us is the client-centric approach we have. All vendors say they are client-focused. We don’t nickel and dime you with add-on’s and don’t increase your support each time you add a custom item. No games, no gimmicks. Better Software. Better Company.
  • We have flexible terms. Need to add just one employee user to your subscription? You can do that. No requirements to purchase a bundle of 5, 10, 25, 50 etc. like other vendors in our space. Need 7 licenses for a few months in the summer for interns? You can do that. No games, no gimmicks. Better Software. Better Company.
